My Disney's Highlights

Happy New Year 2018 !

I spent the last week of 2017 in Orlando, FL witnessing the magical new year's eve fireworks in Walt Disney World. I was about to make this post into a sorta travel blog but i'm really bad at retelling what i've experienced which probably will take me forever to just straight into one point. So i'll make it into some important points that i thought could be helpful for some newbie (especially students) who wants to go to Disney world.

The first things first,

Me and my other 3 friends was planning this trip 6-7 months before and it's better to do that cause sometimes Disney offer the new year trip package early (prices will up the closer it gets to December).  One of my friend signed up to Disney world web to arrange our trip there, you can modify your own trip based on what you want, like how many days and parks you want to go, which resorts you prefer and even a meal plan. We spent 5 days 4 nights in Disney World, stayed in Disney's All-star music resort (fyi, All-star resorts have the cheapest rate compare to other Disney's resorts, but they're still decent and comfy) and each of us (we were on a plan for 4 person) got 4-day passes so that we could enter ALL of the four theme parks (1 park per day). The plan costed $570 per person (should be paid ahead which is good) and it included what i've explained --passes and hotel for 4 nights (without meal plan) and also include free Disney's magical express ride from (and to) MCO airport and our magic bands (awesome all-in-one device that allow you many things in Disney world). That was a good deal since the regular one-day ticket for one park usually costs around $107 and hotel would probably costs around the same for one night. So plan early!

The fun parts,

1. Once you got your magic band, Disney gives you 3 free Fastpass for each park, which means you can reserve 3 attractions in advance and allows you to enter the attractions you've chosen through the Fastpass entrance so you don't have to waste your magical time just to queue long for regular entrance. This is crucial for the sake of having efficient time in Disney. Tips for me are better choose the must-to-go attractions or rides, which usually have a long line, to be in your fastpass list. So do google the type of rides and select your fastpass a day before

2. I wasn't be able to try all of the rides but if you ask me what the must-to-go rides, i would say Avatar flight of passage (in Animal kingdom), Soarin (in Epcot), Splash mountain or Space mountain (in Magic Kingdom) and Star tours (in Hollywood studios). These could be depend on personal preference, but i one hundred percent totally recommend Flight of Passage and Soarin, cause those are the BEST rides i've ever experienced oh gosh just google it, i lose words. In my opinion, Magic Kingdom has the least exciting rides for adults than other parks but it definitely spoils you with all Disney's OGs and classical stuffs but yea Splash mountain and space mountain are worth trying. I love Star tours just because i love star wars and the purpose of my visit to Hollywood studios was just to satisfy my inner-jedi haha, so maybe if you are not star wars's fan you could probably choose the other rides. Star tours are great also because they made it up-to-date with the latest star wars movie, the last jedi, which makes you experience some of last jedi's scenes. Star wars world will be opening soon in 2019 tho, bet it will be dope.

3. Beware, meals in Disney are expensive especially for almost-broke-student like me. But there are several ways to survive such as bring your own lunch, snacks and bottle or if you end up eating in one of Disney's restaurants you can share your meal with your friend or order kid's meal haha it works fine for me cause American portion always bigger than my usual meal portion. All of disney's resorts have their own food court and they sell refillable mug for around $20 which you can purchase in advance and you can use it for free refill for any kinds of drinks, anytime you want.

4. If you are planning to spend New Year's eve, i recommend Epcot for the new year's eve instead of Magic kingdom. Magic kingdom will held the new year countdown twice in Dec 30th and 31st, but Epcot only has one day new year party on the new year's eve. So that you can have two countdown parties (30th in Magic kingdom and 31st in Epcot). But it again depends on personal preference, I personally like the Epcot's fireworks better. P.S. since Epcot is more for 'adult', they provide many music stages, rave parties and more alcohols.

5. Again. If you are planning to spend New Year's eve, or going on winter break, be ready for the crowd. You should aware cause December-January are the busiest days of the year in Disney so don't complain (cause you'll be tired anyway trust me), prepare well and have fun. Also, wear a proper outfits, December in Florida is still not really that warm, it was sweater-weather for me (i'm tropical girl) but it could get much colder in the nights and don't forget to bring the raincoat or rain poncho.

6. I just found out, selfie stick is not allowed in Disney. So keep in mind, Asians!

7. Waiting in line for rides could be so boring, it's better to prepare something fun to do with your friends and load some snacks. So many people waiting in line were playing "heads-up" game with their friends, me and my friends ended up playing the same thing. You can also googling some Disney's trivia while waiting in line, there are so many hidden and unusual things in Disney, knowing ones could make your experience more anti-mainstream.

Hmm i think thats all for me. ciao!
